Dear EMCSD Community,
We have been following reports regarding the Eaton Fire. The fire has shifted East and is now at Mount Wilson. With the fire spreading and the shift in wind patterns expected to bring more smoke to our local area, we will close all schools, including Head Start, tomorrow, Friday, January 10th.
Below are some resources on what you can do at home to stay safe from wildfire smoke:
- Stay indoors (wear a mask if possible)
- Keep windows and doors closed
- When possible, turn on air conditioners and use filters
Thank you to everyone for their trust and partnership these last few days. We know many people have been affected by the wildfires, especially the Eaton Fire. Many have asked if anything can be done to help. Below is information about our donation drive for the Eaton Fire.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday,
Dr. Maribel Garcia
Superintendent
